Sept.26: Thirteen people were injured when a bolero jeep met with an
accident at Pathibhara Yangwarak Rural Municipality in Taplejung.
As many
as 13 people including the driver got injured when the jeep with a registration
number (Me 1 Ja 2186) crashed on the inner roads of Tiringe, at Pathibhara
Yangwarak Rural Municipality, on Tuesday
morning.
Rajan Limbu, Superintendent
of Police (SSP) at Taplejung said that the jeep carrying the pilgrimage from
Tiringe to Pathibhara met with an accident at 4:30 AM on Tuesday. The jeep
suddenly slipped from the slanting part of the earthen road and veered off 70 meters causing an accident as per the
preliminary investigation.
The injured Dhan Bahadur Dangi, aged 70, is in a serious condition and is referred outside of the district
for further treatment. The injured are identified as Bhakta Karki, driver of
the jeep, aged 21, Fulmaya Basnet, aged 62, Nirmala Basnet, aged 35, Karna
Bahadur Bhattarai, aged 22, Bimala Dangi, aged 30.
Likewise,
two girl children named Yunisha Basnet, aged six, Swastika Basnet, aged four,
Lalita Bhattarai aged 41, Kumar Bhattarai, aged 22, Man Bahadur Basnet, aged
37, Chandra Bahadur Karki, aged 38, and Karna Bahadur Karki, aged 41.
Karna Bahadur Karki is from Barhadasi Rural Municipality-2 while the remaining are from Tiringe. Besides one, all others are receiving treatment at Taplejung District Hospital.
