By Siraj Khan,Nepalgunj, July 18: Nepalgunj, a city in western Nepal, is witnessing a gradual revival of the cinema industry, which was previously hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Now, a state-of-the-art cinema hall named ‘Cine Royal’ is nearing completion at Surkhet Road, Nepalgunj.

The construction of Cine Royal, which will feature three screens equipped with the advanced ‘Three Way Dolby Atmos Sound System’ and ‘Four K Laser Projector’ has reached its final stages.

Dr. Rahul Thapa, the owner of the movie theatre, has revealed that two of the halls will accommodate 250 audiences each, while the third hall will have the capacity to hold 150 people. The construction work is nearing completion, and the cinema is set to open its doors in coming July or August.

In addition to the movie halls, Dr. Thapa plans to launch a cafeteria alongside the cinema.

He has also plans to open a departmental store and various shopping outlets, offering a complete entertainment and shopping experience, added Thapa.

Given its proximity to the Nepal-India border, it is anticipated that Cine Royal will attract a significant number of Indian viewers.

While Bageshwori QFX cinema hall has already been in operation in Nepalgunj, the imminent launch of Cine Royal with its state-of-the-art facilities and strategic location near the border is expected to further revitalise the cinema industry in the region.
