Stress Management

blog

Stress is a state of mental or emotional strain resulting from adverse or demanding circumstances. Even small things give us stress. Students are no exception to this. Too much pressure on anything causes stress to anyone. As students are like a mould, it depends upon the teachers/parents how they teach them and in what kind of environment they are brought up. Students are to learn new things and get little or more exposure plus knowledge about the field they want to be in the future. Little children take stress about homework and punishment.

However, after becoming teenage, they seem to think about what they want to be in the future. Students mostly are afraid of failure and comparisons they get knowingly or unknowingly. It is not the right way to teach or make them understand instead it will just give pressure. Tests are the way to know how much one remembers after the study but it judges the student’s willpower, even if s/he has high IQ than the one who gets greater marks by just reading than understanding.

Stress is the thing that is silent and aggressive at the same time. Stress for students outside the class is how one views them. Some people make themselves unconscious and the pressure to think about an aim even if they have no clear thoughts about what an aim is and why it is important for your career. Students' behaviour also sometimes depends upon what kind of friends or people they hang out with. Some will help them to learn and grow whereas some drag them towards unnecessary parts. Unlike the adults, who can communicate about how stress impacts their lives, children and teens may not recognise or even have the words to describe how they're feeling.

Students mostly spend their time with teachers during academic periods. So the teachers can help students with stress to limit it. Only studying is not important. Other physical activities will help to clear their mind. Going out on vacation, playing physical games, and exercising are some methods that will help students to cope with their emotions. These factors may not only be the possible cause of stress. Other factors such as abuse and anxiety may lead them to how they behave.

Stress can make students emotionally unstable. It will become the guardian’s or elders' duty to look the children after so that they can recover and not get such feelings. Music can be a therapy to reduce stress as well. Giving limited homework to students, having them proper schedule that is not overloaded, ensuring the right amount of sleep they get, a healthy diet, daily exercise, and so on are the qualities for them to be stress-free. It is essential for students to eat well, get enough sleep, be physically active, and take time to relax as well as work and study. Excessive stress can cause health problems such as fatigue, loss of appetite, headaches, and gastrointestinal issues.

Academic stress has been linked to a variety of negative effects, including ill health, anxiety, depression, and poor academic performance. Being away from home, work, and study loads, the financial crisis that cuts down the right to the education they want and competition are also the factors behind stress. It is the stress that can lead to mental health issues such as depression and anxiety. It can also affect academic performance badly. Taking stress and giving it to others is always harmful.
