By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Apr. 7: The Nepali folk musical band Mongolian Heart is set to tour Australia after 10 years. Under Nepali Touch Australia’s management, the band is going to perform in eight cities down under.
The band’s manager and guitarist Boby Lama informed that the tour will commence from April 10. “We are leaving Nepal for Australia on Friday,” said Lama, “We are excited to make this trip after a decade. We have prepared to surprise the audience.”
According to Dipesh Pun, chief executive officer of the tour manager Nepali Touch Australia, the band will hold its first concert in Melbourne on April 10.
Likewise, they plan to perform in Brisbane on April 13, Canberra on April 15, Darwin on April 16, Perth on April 23 and Hobart on April 29. They will conclude their tour with a show in Adelaide on April 30.
Formed in 1992, Mongolian Heart is famous for folk, slow rock and pop melody songs and has Boby Lama on rhythm guitar, Santosh Thapa Magar on drums, Kiran Nagarkoti on lead guitar, Pawan Kapali on bass, Binay Maharjan on flute and Baburaja Maharjan on Madal.
The band’s frontman singer Raju Lama is excited to tour Australia on what will also be the band’s 30th anniversary.
“After 10 years, Mongolian Heart is going to Australia,” he said, “We will present our old and some new songs. We are very excited to renew our musical relationship with Australia.’’
