By Our Correspondent,Inaruwa, Mar. 3: Inaruwa Film Festival, currently being held in Inaruwa Municipality, Sunsari district, has become a huge hit, with artistes from across the country performing in the festival and a large crowd of people participating.
Aiming to make the identity of Inaruwa known all over country and make it a fertile ground for movies, the festival is being organised by Federation of Nepal Film Artiste Association Province -1 with the support of Inaruwa Municipality. In the festival, two dozen short and feature films produced in Koshi Province have already been screened.
Arun Pradhan, the provincial president of the organising federation, informed that more than 1,000 audiences watched the movie for free in the CG cinema hall during the festival.
Artistes – including Melina Niraula, Ramesh Budhathoki, Hemant Budhathoki, Rama Mandal, Pushpa Shrestha, Eleena Chauhan, Prakash Ojha, Joginder Panwala, Nishu Dhimal, Prakash Anurag and Bhotan Mehta – have performed in the festival.
Along with film exhibition and musical performance, ethnic dress showcase, bridal beauty contest, and baby fancy dress competitions were held in the festival. Arun Kumar Pradhan, president of the Federation, informed that personalities who have made special contributions to the fields of education, health, sports, film, and journalism have been honoured in the festival.
Initially, the festival planned to promote talent and encourage local production in the first five days, but was later extended to 13 days following the immense enthusiasm of Inaruwa residents, informed the organiser.
