By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Dec. 20: Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has registered his candidacy for the post of Parliamentary Party leader of the party.
Senior Leader Ram Chandra Paudel has proposed Deuba while Vice Chair Purna Bahadur Khadka supported Deuba for the candidacy.
Congress General Secretary Gagan Thapa has already filed his candidacy for the post.
As per the statutes of the Parliamentary Party, one should get 51 per cent of votes to be the PP leader of the party.
Nepali Congress has 89 lawmakers including 57 elected through the first past the post (FPTP) system and 32 through the propositional representation (PR) electoral system.
