Gagan Thapa registers his candidacy for NC PP leader

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Dec. 20: Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Thapa has registered his candidacy for the post of parliamentary party leader of the party.

NC Leader Dr Shekhar Koirala proposed his name while Vice Chair Dhan Raj Gurung, another General Secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma and leader Pradeep Paudel supported Thapa for the candidacy. 

NC Parliamentary Party leader's election is going to be held tomorrow, Wednesday. 

As per the statutes of the Parliamentary Party, one should get 51 per cent of votes to be the PP leader of the party. 

Nepali Congress has 89 lawmakers including 57 elected through the first past the post (FPTP) system and 32 through the propositional representation (PR) electoral system.
