4,563 employees to be deployed in Tanahun district for election

Tanahun. Nov.1: District Election Office, Tanahun, has decided to deploy 4,563 employees for the upcoming elections to the House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly scheduled for November 20 in the district. 

Chief District Election Officer Hari Prasad Dhakal said that  the employees would be deployed in the 305 polling centres of 142 polling stations of the district.

He said that 1,782 civil servants and 2,781 teachers would be deployed to hold the elections. Details of these teachers and civil servants have been sent to the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, and the required manpower would be assigned for the election from the selected employees.

He said that 305 polling officers and the same number of assistant polling officers will be posted in 305 polling centres. According to the office, five assistant staff will be assigned to each polling centre. 

The Nepali Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and temporary police will provide security in the poling centres. In order to conduct the election peacefully, all the three security agencies will conduct separate patrols, provide security to the polling officers’ offices and the election materials. According to the office, there are 248,495 voters in Tanahun with 123,490 voters in Tanahun constituency-1, and 125,005 in constituency-2. 

The District Security Committee has classified the polling stations as highly sensitive, sensitive and normal centres in terms of security challenges.

 Committee Coordinator and Chief District Officer Bishwa Prakash Aryal said that out of 142 polling stations, six are highly sensitive, 52 are sensitive and 82 are categorised as normal.
