Candidates helping out in fields to appeal to voters

blog

By Shiba Raj Dhungana, Achham, Oct 23 : In an effort to reach out to the people and present a favourable image, candidates in Achham have started going to the fields and helping the farmers who are currently busy in harvesting paddy in their field work.

While lending a hand in bringing in the crops, the candidates have also been sharing their plans for infrastructure development and livelihood enhancement.

Since the candidates and political parties cannot hold campaign rallies and gatherings more than 17 days before November 20’s federal and provincial elections, as per the rules enforced by the Election Commission, the candidates have been putting forth their plans and policies to the voters through door-to-door meetings and farm work.

Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security Sher Bahadur Kunwar from CPN (Unified Socialist) is the candidate put forth in Achham Constituency No. 1 by the ruling coalition for the House of Representatives (HoR) with former provincial minister Jhapat Bahadur Bohara from CPN (UML) challenging him. And according to their campaigns, both are busy meeting voters and explaining their positions on different issues mattering most to them.

It is the same case in Achham 2 where HoR candidates Pushpa Bahadur Shah and Yagya Bahadur Bogati, representing the coalition and UML respectively, are also busy in courting votes. There are nine candidates, including three independents, standing for two HoR seats from Achham. Similarly, there are 10 people, including one independent, standing for four seats in the Provincial Assembly.
