One in six drivers' drives intoxicated

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Oct.21: One in every six drivers have consumed alcohol while driving in the survey of the last 30 days. 

In a press brief, organized by the Ministry of Health and Population on a SAFER Initiative project, Dr. Dipendra Raman Singh, Director of the Department of Health Services said that there is a need to control adversities from alcohol consumption, which hampers the development, health, and safety of denizens. 

There has been an increase in alcohol consumption by 20 percent from 2013 to 2018 and one-third of alcohol drinkers fall in the category of heavy drinkers. 

SAFER Initiative is started in Nepal with the aim to reduce alcohol consumption and its adversities in Nepal.
