By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Oct.15: Washing hands regularly reduces diarrhoea by 30 per cent and respiratory diseases by 20 per cent.
According to the report of the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), around 30 per cent of diarrhoea and 20 per cent of respiratory diseases is reduced by just washing hands regularly.
It helps in breaking the chain of diseases such as cholera, Ebola Virus Disease (EVD), SARS, Hepatitis E, and COVID-19.
This year a total of 76 cases of Cholera were reported in Nepal, where, three of them were children under five years.
Global Hand washing is being celebrated today with an aim to motivate and mobilise people around the world to improve their hand washing habits.
