By TRN Online, Pokhara, Oct. 15: Saraswoti Chaudhary of Nepal Army won the women's 100-meter gold medal after shattering the national record of Nisha Chaudhary of Lumbini set in the heat round at the track of Pokhara Stadium on Saturday.
Chaudhary clocked 12.13 seconds to surpass the record of 12.15 set by Nisha in the qualifying round today.
The previous record of 12.19 seconds was on the name of Devi Maya Paneru.
However, the national mark set today is Hand time. Paneru's record is the electronic time which was set during the 1999 South Asian Games.
Nisha was satisfied with the silver medal with a time of 12.22 seconds. She fell seven mili seconds behind her record time.
Ramita Tharu of the Army raced to third place after clocking 12.92 seconds.
