9th National Games: Sudurpaschim Province thrashes Karnali Province 5-3

Kaski, Oct 14:The Sudurpaschim Province has secured a 5-3 win against Karnali Province in a men's football match under the 9th National Games. The match was organised on Friday at the Gosteghat playground of Lamachaur in Pokhara-19. 

Sudurpaschim Province took a 1-0 lead in the 38th minute of the first half with a suicide goal from Karan Rawal. For the team, Gyanendra Joshi scored another goal in the 58th minute. But, Bikesh Santoshi from Karnali Province scored a goal in the 62nd minute, leading to a 2-1 match. Karnali Province was put under pressure when Kuber Singh from Sudurpaschim Province scored a goal in the 77th minute, leading the match 3-1. 

Again, Bikesh scored another goal in the 84th minute for Karnali Province. But, the team's attempts to increase their competition against Sudurpaschim Province were almost shattered when the latter led the game 5-2 with two additional goals from Shashank Bohora and Direndra Shah. 

However, for Karnali Province, Bikesh got a hat-trick with a goal in a penalty shootout in the 95th minute, leading to a 5-3 match. Under the tournament, two matches are taking place tomorrow. Madhes Province is taking on APF Club and Province 1 is facing Gandaki Province. (RSS)
