Bishnu Prasad Pokhrel, Damak, Oct 3: Damak Bazar has been wearing a dusty face for months as the road dug to layout drainage pipes is yet to be repaired.
The locals have been complaining about the dust and spread of potholes here and there. The road was dug out to lay drainage pipes to generate electricity and fertilizer by processing through drainage.
Suyog Kharel of Damak-6 complained that children are getting
sick due to spiraling mud.
Spiraling clouds of dust have affected the business as well, according to Tikaram Khatiwada of Damak-6. The road from
Damak-6 towards Chakrapath is damaged.
Repairing the damaged road is the responsibility of the construction company itself. Swaminarayan Nirman Sewa (Swaminarayan
Construction Service) Biratnagar has taken the contract for the construction of drainage
under the Federal Drinking Water and Drainage Management project.
The road was damaged one year ago and it is yet to
be blacktopped.
The Mayor of Damak
Municipality, Ram Thapa informed that the necessary directive has been given to repair the damaged road soon. He assured that the blacktop will be completed during the festival
season.
