KMC to give cetamol, ORS to dengue infected during Dashain

Kathmandu, Oct 3 :  Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) is going to conduct dengue prevention and control programme through special arrangements during Dashain festival. 

In continuation of the previous programme, arrangements have been made to distribute cetamol and Oral Rehydration Salts (ORS) by female health volunteers during the festival.

There are 558 female health volunteers in the metropolis. Cetamol and ORS have been provided to female health volunteers for distribution to dengue infected patients. 

“If you need any information related to dengue during the festival, please contact the metropolis hotline 1180. If you need to go to the hospital for dengue treatment, call 102 and use the free Nepal Ambulance service,” KMC said in a press statement. 

Appealing to the residents of the city to prevent and control the infection, Balendra Shah (Balen), mayor of KMC, aid, “The best way to avoid infection is to avoid mosquito bites.” 

All citizens should be alert.  The metropolis will continue to work for infection prevention and control as well as testing and treatment, said mayor Shah.
