By A Staff Reporter Kathmandu, June 11: Padma Kanya Bidhyashram Secondary School Dilli Bazaar is going to introduce the beautician course from class 9 to 11.
At a discussion programme jointly organised by the Curriculum Development Centre, Association of Beauticians of Nepal and Padma Kanya School, Headmaster Rita Tiwari said that the subject was introduced after seeking permission from the concerned body with the objective of enabling the students to become self-employed.
She said that she was very grateful to get permission to introduce the beautician course in her school. Speaking at the programme, Kamala Shrestha, President of the Association of Beauticians of Nepal, said that she had struggled a lot to include beautician course in the school curriculum.
“It is not only a matter of happiness but also a way for the students to demonstrate their skills and become independent,” Shrestha added.
Explaining that beauty is not only the make-up of the face, she said, “Beauty is not only the subject of facial adornment, but it is an art of knowledge. Beauty is related to everything from facial make -up to a healthy body and exercise. ”
Khila Nath Dhamala, Branch Officer of the Curriculum Development Centre (CDC), said that the efforts of the association and the school have been very fruitful.
He said that the Curriculum Development Centre would fully support the additional plans and programmes of the school.
