Voting continued till 10 pm in Humla

By Rajan Raut, Humla, May 14: Voting in the local level election continued till 10 pm on Friday at two polling centers in Humla district.

 

Shyam Bahadur Rana, information officer at the district election office, said that voting in Malika secondary school polling center of Kharpunath Rural Municipality-1 and the Kot secondary school polling center in Sarkegard Rural Municipality-7 continued till 10 pm.

 

Voting in these centers had resumed at 8 pm after dispute over some issues at day time.

 

The Election Commission had set 7 am to 5 pm as voting period for the local poll held on Friday. However, voters could cast their votes if they entered the polling centers by 5 pm, according to the EC.

 

According to the election office, voter turnout in the local poll in Humla has been 79.4 per cent. Of 32,681 eligible voters, 25, 754 cast their votes on Friday, the voting day of the local poll.
