I am serious about journalists' professional and physical safety: Communications Minister
Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Jagadish Kharel has said that the ministry would hold discussions with concerned agencies of the state in regards to the professional and physical safety of journalists. At the Hem-Sunil Risky Television Journalism Award distribution ceremony organized by the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), Nepal Television chapter today, Minister Kharel expressed the commitment to discuss with concerned agencies, including the Ministry of Home Affairs, regarding the safety of journalists.
Landslide blocks Muglin-Narayangadh road again
Kedar Nepal, chief of Muglin-Nagdhunga Road Project office, west section, informed that a huge landslide occurred at about 12 this afternoon, blocking the road. As the landslide is huge, it is difficult to estimate time to clear it and resume traffic.
404 inmates of Kaski jail return
There were 773 prisoners in the jail when it was broken during the Gen Z protest on September 9 evening. All the inmates had fled the cell leaving the jail empty. Some of the inmates were arrested from Kathmandu and surrounding district while most of the prisoners returned on their own, according to jailer Rajendra Sharma.

Two girls drown in Saptari
Rajbiraj (Saptari), Sept 23: Two girls drowned in a pond at Surunga municipality-2 in Saptari district today.The deceased have been identified as Sustika Chaudhary, a seven-year-old daughter of Surendra Chaudhary, and Ashaki Chaudhary, 11-year-old daughter of Keshar Chaudhary.Both the girls died after they drowned in the pond while bathing, shared Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Jitendra Kumar Basnet.Locals informed the police about the incident. Further investigation into the incident was underway, added police.(RSS)
