Mahato secured 9,901 votes against her nearest rival, Rishi Kafle, the candidates of five party alliance candidate from CPN (Maoist Center), who secured 7,729 votes.

NC makes clean sweep in Geruwa RMBy Mukunda Subedi, Bardiya, May 17: Nepali Congress has won all the wards in the Geruwa Rural Municipality. Nepali Congress Candidate Jamansingh K.C has been elected the Chair of the RM securing 7698 votes.His close rival Bishowbahadur Tharu of CPN (Maoist Center) secured 6,620 votes. Similarly, CPN (UML) candidate Bharat Bahadur Dhami got 1851 votes.Nepali Congress Laxmi Kumari Chaudhary won Vice-Chairmanship securing 7,153 votes.Her closest rival Lila Chaudhary of CPN (Maoist Center) secured 6,583 votes. CPN (UML) candidate for vice Chair Manju Sharma got 2253 votes. Congress has won all the members including ward chairs of the 6 wards in the RM.

Public transport fare hiked
