Voting in progress in all seven provinces, results to be out today itself

Chinese cultural show presented to mark Spring Festival
By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Jan 24: Chinese artists from Anhui province of China presented today a cultural show on the occasion of Chinese New Year.A total of 10 cultural performances including dances, acrobatics, traditional songs and dances, operas were presented amidst a large gathering of the distinguished dignitaries including Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR) Devraj Ghimire.In his inaugural address to the cultural show entitled Beautiful Anhui into Nepal, Speaker Ghimire said that relations between Nepal and China have been deepening and taking new heights with the passes of time.Saying Nepal-China relations dated back to ancient times, Speaker Ghimire said exchanges of visits between the leaders including Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to Nepal in 2019 and then President Bhandari’s visit to China took the relations to a new height.He also shared it as happy matter that parliamentary relations between the countries have also become strong with the exchange of visits of for HoR Speaker Agni Sapkota and Chairman of NPC of China Li Zhanshu in 2022.Speaker Ghimire reiterated that Nepal firmly adheres to One China Policy and appreciates China’s assistance in Nepal’s development.Addressing the cultural show, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Chen Song, said that the cultural show was the second in a series of programmes to mark Spring Festival, one of the biggest traditional festivals of China, in Nepal.He expected the show will strengthen cultural relations between the two neighbours.
