Hersh Goldberg-Polin, an American-Israeli held hostage by Hamas in Gaza, has died, his family said Sunday, dealing fresh heartbreak to the relatives of captives who fear time is running out for their loved ones seized by the militants more than 10 months ago. The 23-year-old was among six hostages who Israeli soldiers found dead in tunnels under Gaza, according to the military. The hostages were killed “a short while before we reached them,” Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari said in a briefing.
