blog

By Siraj Khan,Nepalgunj, July 18: The health insurance programme which was earlier implemented only in Bheri Hospital in Nepalgunj, Banke, has also been implemented at Nepalgunj Medical College in Kohalpur.

"According to an agreement inked with the Health Insurance on July 16, the insurance programme will be rolled out at Nepalgunj Medical College in Kohalpur," said Deputy Director of the Nepalgunj Medical College Hospital Dr. Dinesh Shrestha.

He mentioned that the programme had been previously introduced at the hospital but was halted midway. This interruption caused significant issues for the people of Kohalpur. Many patients sought insurance at Bheri Hospital, resulting in overcrowding and service challenges.

Dr. Sanket Rijal, information officer at Bheri Hospital, said, "With the implementation of the insurance programme at Nepalgunj Medical College, it will now be much easier for Bheri Hospital."

He added, "Currently, Bheri Hospital is experiencing staff shortages, making patient care difficult. The programme's implementation in Kohalpur will help sort out these challenges."

Starting from July 16, 10 other private medical colleges and teaching hospitals, including Nepalgunj Medical College, have been included in the medical insurance programme. Additionally, two eye hospitals have also implemented the insurance programme.
