3rd Kathmandu-Kalinga Literary Festival from Sept. 7

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Apr. 10: Yashaswi Pragya Pratisthan, Nepal and Kalinga Literary Festival, India will host the 3rd edition of the Kathmandu Kalinga Literary Festival (KKLF) on September 7 and 8 in Kathmandu. 

A press release issued on Tuesday by Ranjana Niraula, founder, director and curator of the Kathmandu Kalinga Literary Festival informed that the Festival will celebrate over 400 authors from Nepal, India, Bhutan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

Winner of International Man Booker Prize Geetanjali Shree, acclaimed writers Uday Prakash, Jerry Pinto, Mrinal Pandey, Paul Sukirta Kumar, Maria Goreti, Usha Uthup, Yatindra Mishra, Gurucharan Das, Yetish Kumar, Kanishk Gupta, Rahul Soni, Ila Arun, Arundhathi Subramaniam, Ranjit Rae, Haldhar Nag, Devdas Chhotray, Saroj Bala, Kedar Mishra and others from India will join the festival as the speakers. Similarly, Dr. Abhi Subedi, Tulasi Diwas, Dr. Jagman Gurung, Ashesh Malla, S.J.B. Rana, Bishow Parajuli, CK Lal, Rohini Rana, Dhirendra Premarshi, Dr. Usha Thakur, Dr. Beena Paudel and other 300 authors from Nepal will speak at the festival.

The central theme of the Festival will be 'The gateways to Asian art, culture and literature'.

“The 3rd edition of KKLF will showcase literature, music, dance, poetry and other art forms. It will be a lifetime experience for lovers of literature, music, dance, art and poetry. The Festival will celebrate the long-standing ties between Nepal, India other South Asian countries in the context of the emerging global cultures,” said KLF founder and director Rashmi Ranjan Parida.

“Nepal's contribution to global civilisation is significant and diverse, reflecting the country's unique cultural heritage, natural resources, and touristic location,” said KKLF director Niraula. 

Moreover, the Kathmandu Kalinga Literary Festival in this edition will introduce Yashaswi Book Awards to 15 authors in 15 categories. The awards will be given to the best books of fiction, non-fiction, poetry, translation, business, strategic affairs, environment, biography, autobiography, children's literature, sports, lifestyle and other emerging trends. 

The annual Kalinga Literary Festival (KLF) is one of the leading international literary festivals from India which is being held annually at Bhubaneswar of Odisha. The KLF has been hosting the Kathmandu edition in association with Yashaswi Pragya Pratisthan, Nepal and Himalayan Diary Pvt Ltd since 2022.
