Anjani Mata Rasoighar feeding quake-injured, attendants free of cost in Bheri Hospital

By Siraj Khan,Nepalgunj, Nov. 9: For the past five days, Anjani Mata Rasoighar, a restaurant, has been providing free meals to individuals injured in the Jajarkot earthquake, who are receiving treatment at Bheri Hospital, as well as their attendants. 

Free meals have been arranged for earthquake-injured patients, their attendants and healthcare workers treating them at Bheri Hospital, Nepalgunj. 

Anjani Mata Rasoighar is located on the hospital premises.

Jitendra Kumar Singh, the operator of Anjani Mata Rasoighar, said the free meals have been arranged through the collaborative efforts of various organisations and individuals in response to a request from the District Emergency Operation Centre, Banke.

The restaurant, which has been serving a full meal at just Rs. 40, is currently offering free meals to those affected by the earthquake, including the injured, their caregivers, and the healthcare workers engaged in their treatment.

More than 700 people have benefited from the free food service so far, said Singh. 

The restaurant has received support for 1,300 meals, he added. 

Naresh Shrestha, focal person of the District Emergency Operations Centre, Banke, informed that Banke UNESCO Club has provided financial support for 528 meals and social worker Dhurba Devkota provided financial support for 502 meals. 

The restaurant, which initially served meals at a rate of Rs. 20 per meal during the COVID-19 pandemic, is presently offering meals at a rate of Rs. 40 rupees to all patients and their attendants receiving treatment at Bheri Hospital.

Local youth in Nepalgunj are actively participating as volunteers in food management. 

The District Emergency Operations Centre in Banke has also appealed to various organisations and individuals to contribute further support by providing free meals.

Organisations providing assistance for free meals will transfer their support funds to Singh, the manager of Anjani Mata Kitchen, through Birendra Shah, who serves as the Chairman of the Bheri Hospital Development Committee.

Local social workers Nandalal Baishya, Min Malla and Hemantraj Kafle have been consistently supporting and facilitating the free meal programme.
