Ganesh statue of 21 feet unveiled in Ilam

By Our Correspondent,Pashupatinagar (Ilam), Feb. 9: A 21 feet tall statue of Lord Ganesh has been constructed on the premises of Durga Temple in Nayabazaar of Maijogmai Rural Municipality, Ilam. 

Young businessman Mukesh Bhandari of Nayabazaar built the idol of Lord Ganesh from his own expenses in order to develop the place as a religious and tourist site.

 Bhandari informed that he spent Rs.2.2 million for preparing the statue of Lord Ganesh.

Bhandari claimed that the statue of Ganesh he built is the tallest one in Nepal. 

Currently, Bhandari has been living in Kathmandu. 

The idol of Lord Ganesh was unveiled in the presence of the chairman and members of the Durga Temple Conservation Committee, local social workers and Bhandari himself. 

The statute of Ganesh was crafted by the artists of Rojan Art Studio, Dharan.
