The road connecting Dhalkebar with Janakpur has six lanes and is almost always busy. To accommodate the vehicles that ply the road every day, four bridges have been constructed over the Aurahi River at Mahendranagar. Of the four bridges, the middle two are meant for large vehicles while those on the left and right are meant for light automobiles and bicycles. However, two days a week, the easternmost bridge gets occupied by vendors who set up open-air shops on the lane where vehicles are meant to drive on. The shop-owners themselves admit that this makes driving difficult and increases the risk of accident for both them and the motorists. But they still encroach upon the bridge nonetheless.
Seven groups combined have started commercial farming by creating vegetable block in Thulo Harre village in Bheriganga Municipality-4 of East Surkhet. A total of 182 households are there in the block, each with an average earning of five lakh per season. The total earning of the block in a season is more than ninety million rupees.

Shree Steels has started exporting TMT rods to India. With this, steel has become the second construction commodity to be exported to India after cement. Inaugurating the export, Shree Steels sent 35 tons of rod by a truck to Kunserwa in Maharajgunj, India via Belhiya border in the first batch. Shree Steel's Director, Rajesh Agarwal, informed that the aim is to continue and increase exports as per the demand in the coming days. He said that the export was started according to the export policy introduced in the recent budget. "The industry which has been facing the problems of loadshedding and power tripping, also faced the coronavirus pandemic. But now we have begun the export of steel to other countries," Agrawal said.

China will host the 2022 Asian Games in autumn 2023, organisers said on Tuesday, after postponing the event in Hangzhou because of Covid-19. The Games were originally scheduled for September this year, but organisers postponed them in May as China tried to stamp out a large Covid resurgence in several parts of the country. The event will now be held in Hangzhou from September 23 to October 8 2023, the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) said. Hangzhou lies less than 200 kilometres (120 miles) from the country's biggest city Shanghai, which endured a months-long lockdown earlier this year as part of the ruling Communist Party's zero-tolerance approach to the virus.

The Confederation of Nepali Industries (CNI) has published the fourth issue of the industrial status report after studying the activities of Nepal's industries. Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Dilendra Prasad Badu released the report on Monday. The Election Commission has expanded online registration for voter’s roll with photographs in five more districts after the successful implementation of the service in three districts of the Kathmandu Valley. The Election Commission (EC) on Tuesday decided to expand the service in Jhapa, Morang, Kavre, Kaski and Chitwan districts to simplify the voter’s registration process, said EC’s under-secretary Surya Prasad Aryal.
