Kathmandu, April 19 : The CPN UML has endorsed the draft of the manifesto prepared for the local level election. At the party meeting held in the party chair's residence, Balkot endorsed the manifesto, according to Deputy General Secretary Prithvi Subba Gurung. A committee was formed under the leadership of Senior Deputy Chairperson Ishwor Pokhrel. The UML is scheduled to make public the commitment paper on April 22. The meeting also directed the party rank and file to devote to the election.

A committee under the coordination of senior vice-chairperson Ishwor Pokharel has been formed to prepare the draft of the manifesto. Nepal Intellectual, Council close to the CPN (UML), has facilitated the district and local-level for the preparation of manifesto and commitment paper to be issued by the CPN (UML) for local level election scheduled for May 13. The CPN (UML) is making public the manifesto at national level and commitment paper at all local levels on the same day, April 22. The Council had imparted orientation to two persons each in all local levels to coordinate for the preparation of commitment paper.
Sindhuli, April 17 : The Sindhuli road under the BP Highway has been blocked today morning as local people have protested the death of a 12-year-old boy. The boy of Phikkal Rural Municipality-1, who was living at Kamalamai Municipality-5, drowned in a ditch dug for the construction of a concrete bridge linking Kamalamai-4 and 6. The local people and relatives blamed the negligence of those who dug the ditch for the death of the boy. The agitators have staged the protest at Dhungrebas of Kamalamai Municipality-4 disrupting the transportation along the Highway. The road has been blocked since today morning and efforts were on to open it, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Manoj Kumar Lama. The affected local people and relatives of the deceased were called for discussing the matter, but they declined. Rather, they resorted to the protest, he said, adding that efforts were on to open the road after reaching an agreement with the affected people. The body of the boy has been kept at the spot as the bereave family and relatives have declined to receive it in protest. The protestors have demanded compensation to the bereaved family and action against the guilty. The deceased boy was a fourth grader at Sriyas Janata Aawasiya Secondary School.

Nepal Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has made preparation to bring the international airports into operation round the clock to manage the increasing flow of passengers. Similarly, Bhairahawa-based Gautam Buddha International Airport and under construction Pokhara Regional International Airport would come into operation round the clock. CAAN Director-General, Pradeep Adhikari, said that the TIA would provide 24hour service from May 29, Republic Day. Talking to RSS, Adhikari shared, "The CAAN released a plan after the frequent directions of Tourism Minister Prem Bahadur Ale. The flow of passengers at international airports and domestic airports has increased after the COVID pandemic. He said, "There is a need of improvement of infrastructures in all international and domestic airports as well as standardization of service. It is also necessary to give a message that the Nepalese sky is safe. So we have been involved in the effective management of airports." Earlier in 2075 BS, the then Tourism Minister late Rabindra Adhikari had brought the TIA into operation for 21 hours from 18 hours. Gautam Buddha International Airport has been taken as the alternative airport to TIA. According to CAAN, TIA, Gautam Buddha International Airport and construction Pokhara Regional International Airport would now be brought into operation round the clock. Adhikari mentioned that though the runway of Gautam Buddha International Airport would come into operation from April 21, the airport would host international flights from May 16, the Day of Buddha Purnima. Likewise, domestic airports would also come into operation till midnight. The CAAN has decided to bring Bhadrapur, Janakpur, Simara, Bhairahawa, Nepalgunj and Dhangadhi airports into operation till midnight.
Chitwan, April 16 : Chairperson of the CPN (Maoist Centre), Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', has said that the issue of electoral collaboration among the ruling coalition parties would be finalized till Sunday. Talking to media persons at Bharatpur Airport this morning, Chair Prachanda shared that a draft would be prepared till this evening and probably, a conclusion would be drawn till tomorrow. He opined disputes and debates take place even within the same party during election, adding it was natural to take time to parties to come to a consensus. Responding to a query, the CPN (Maoist Centre) Chair said that discussion was underway over the issue of Bharatpur Metropolitan City. He further said that positive discussion was underway in the alliance regarding the candidacy for local-level election.
During the meeting that took place at the Home Ministry, the two discussed the party’s participation in the upcoming local elections slated for May 13, according to Minister’s press coordinator Madhu Sudan Bhattarai.
