SAG players, officials insured for accidents

Kathmandu, Nov 25: National Sports Council (NSC) on Monday insured all players and officials participating in the 13th South Asian Games (SAG) for accident.
The 13th SAG will be held from 1st to 10th December in Kathmandu, Pokhara and Janakpur.
The accident insurance will cover all the players and officials who fall victims to any accident during the SAG. The insurance will come into effect from 1st of December 10th December. NSC has insured around 3000 athletes and 1000 officials who will be directly involved in the SAG.
Member Secretary Ramesh Kumar Silwal, representing the main organising committee, and CEO Ugesh Bhakta Bade Shrestha of IME General Insurance, inked the insurance deal at the NSC Secretariat, Tripureshwor, Kathmandu.
Silwal said that NSC had insured athletes and officials from all seven nations.
“We have insured all players and officials with group accident insurance policy worth of Rs. 5, 000, 00 each,” Silwal said. “I would like to thank all the members and staffs of the insurance institution for their positive attitude for the nation and we will be together in the future too,” Silwal added.
CEO of IME General Insurance Shrestha expressed that his institution was glad to join hands with a national pride programme and the mega sporting event of South Asia. “I would like to thank NSC Member Secretary Silwal and others officials for giving us such an opportunity,” CEO of IME General Insurance Shrestha said.
Member secretary Silwal informed during the press meet that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli will address all the players and will be honouring the women’s national volleyball team for their achievement at AVC Central Zone Volleyball Tournament recently held at Dhaka, Bangladesh.
The addressing and honouring program will be held at Academy Hall, Kathmandu on Tuesday.
