Nepal meet Sri Lanka in last four

Kathmandu, Nov. 29: Nepal cruised into the semi-final of the women's volleyball of the 13th South Asian Games after India registered straight three-set victory over Bangladesh on Friday at NSC Covered Hall, Tripureshwor, Kathmandu.
India and host Nepal advanced into the semi-final as Group A winner and runners up respectively. The 25-08, 25-11, 25-09 defeat from India meant Bangladesh crashed out from medal race.
India collected four points from two matches while Nepal had two points from two matches.
Nepali eve registered straight three-set victories over Bangladesh in the opener while they went down to India in straight three-set in their second match of the group stage on Wednesday.
Nepal will take Group B winner Sri Lanka in the semi-final while India will meet on Group B runner-up the Maldives on November 30.
Sri Lanka registered straight three-set victories over the Maldives to advance into the semis as a group winner from Group B. Sri Lanka won all the three set by 25-15, 25-18 and 25-14.
Likewise, Nepal crashed out from the men’s volleyball after suffering two consecutive defeats. India defeated host in three straight set of 25-15, 25-13 and 25-16. Nepal earlier lost to Bangladesh 3-2 in their opening match.
The win helped India win the Group A with four points from two victories while Bangladesh finished runners up with two points. They both entered semifinals.
