Bardiya, Mar. 14: Province Lumbini dominated the 1st National Pencak Silat Martial Arts Tournament held at Barabardiya Municipality on Saturday. Lumbini clinched five golds, five silvers and one bronze medal to lift the champion’s trophy.
Host Bardiya District Pencak Silat Martial Arts Association finished at the second position with five gold, one silver and two bronze medals. With one gold, one silver and two bronze medals, Province Sudurpaschim took the third position.
Madan Basnet and Anjila Aidi were adjudged best male and female players of the event.
Madan Basnet (45kg), Rajan Baniya (50kg), Haribhakta Tamang (55kg) and Nabin Nepal (60kg) won the gold medals in the men’s category.
Similarly, Laju Chaudhary (40kg), Ritu Chaudhary (45kg), Sangina Rawat (50kg) and Achal Budha Magar (55kg) won the gold medals in women’s category
