Kailali, Nov 22 : Locals of Dhangadhi sub-metropolis-7 demanded the setup of ward office upholding the prior official decision.    
As many as 324 locals on Thursday submitted a memorandum to Dhangadhi sub-metropolis Mayor Nripa Bahadur Wad demanding construction of the ward office in the eastern part of Shiva Primary School in keeping with the previous decision.  

  
It may be noted that the ward committee had decided to construct the ward office nearby Shiva School on last April 30. In line with the decision, the sub-metropolis had also issued tender for the building construction.    

But a dispute was ensued when some dissident locals organized a press conference to demand construction of ward office in the area where Goddess Durga Temple is located.    
Receiving the memorandum, Mayor Wad said the sib-metropolis had already requested Shiva Primary School to provide land for ward office. He however admitted that they had also observed a land adjacent to the Durga Temple for ward office construction. The area was congested as mni covered hall is also being constructed over there.  

  
While handing the memorandum the locals had called for construction of ward office in the land provided by Shiva Primary School which is also convenient for all service seekers.    
Drinking water scheme to be constructed at the cost of Rs 130 million    

A drinking water scheme is to be built at Dhangadhi sub-metropolis-12, Jugeda with the assistance of Nepal Drinking Water Corporation Dhangadhi.    
Mayor Wad laid the foundation stone of the drinking water scheme amidst a programme on Thursday.    

In order to ensure wider access of the locals of all wards to the pure drinking water, the sub-metropolis is constructing half a dozen drinking water projects in its boundary, informed Arbind Kumar Karna, chief of Drinking Water Corporation Dhangadhi.    

The projects which are set to be completed within three years would distribute drinking water to all the locals. The drinking water project with 450,000-litre capacity would benefit 5,000 households.    
Mayor Wad urged all town dwellers to cooperate with the sub-metropolis in its bid to construct the development projects and schemes. ---
