APF retain title

Kathmandu, Dec. 25: Armed Police Force (APF) Club defeated host Tribhuvan Army Club 2-0 on Wednesday to retain the title of the CoAS 7th International Women Football Championship held at the ground of the Nepal Army headquarter, Kathmandu.
Saru Limbu and Rekha Paudel produced one goal each in the victory of APF. This is the fifth time APF have clinched the title of the championship
Limbu put the APF ahead in the fifth minute and Paudel scored one minute before the final whistle to help APF defend the title. APF remained invincible throughout the tournament to clinch the title. APF have beaten Army 4-2 in the group stage. In their title defense campaign, APF beat Nepal Police Club 5-2 in the semifinal. Army ousted Bhutan 2-0 in the last four to make into the final.
With the title APF bagged a cash prize of Rs. 300,000 while runners up Army received prize money of Rs. 150,000. The semifinalists Nepal Police Club and Bhutan Football Team satisfied with Rs. 50,000 each.
