By Aakraj Giri , Kaski, April 5 : African Roots Association Cameroon cruised into the semi-final of the 19th Aaha Rara Gold Cup Football Tournament after stunning Nepal’s Martyr’s Memorial A Division League Champion Machhindra Football Club 2-1 at Pokhara Stadium, Kaski on Sunday.

Moussa and Njimi netted one goal apiece in a victory of the African Roots while Abhishek Rijal scored a consolation goal for Machhindra FC. 

Moussa put African Roots ahead in the 23rd minutes after scoring an acute goal from inside the box. Moussa was declared the Man of the Match for his performance against Machhindra FC. 
Njimi sealed the match for African Roots in the 82nd minutes by utilizing the pass off Djomo. 

Rijal cut the deficit for Machhindra FC in the injury time of the match. 

After crashing out of the tournament, Machhindra FC Coach Prabesh Katwal said due to the unset team and mid-fielders' poor performance they lost the match.

“Today we do not have a full set of Martyr’s Memorial A Division League. Besides, our key player Bishal Rai was injured and that was the main factors to lose the battle,” Coach Katwal said. 

African Roots Association team manager Ashik Thapa Magar said that they have to improve many things in the upcoming matches. “Our strikers could not perform well but mid-fielders and defenders played very well.” Manager Magar said.

Sankata Club will encounter Manang Marsyandgi Club (MMC) on Monday while the departmental side Nepal Police Club will take on Three Star Club on Tuesday in the last quarterfinal of the tournament.
