Pokhara, Jan 6: The 18th edition of the Aaha Rara Gold Cup football tournament held last year has made a profit of Rs. 1.8 million.
The tournament held at Pokhara stadium in March 2020 had generated Rs. 8.8 million in income. However, Rs. 6.9 million was spent for organizing the tournament, according to a statement issued here today by the Sahara Club, Pokhara.
The net income from the tournament will be used for accommodation and education of the children taking shelter in the football academy run by the club in Dobilla in ward no. 17 of Pokhara metropolis, club chair Keshav Bahadur Thapa said.
The club has been making public the income and expenditure details of the tournament held every year. This year it was delayed due to the Corona Virus pandemic, the club has said.
