Kanchanpur, March 30: A Royal Bengal Tiger that was found in injured condition in the Shuklaphanta National Park on Monday has died.
Assistant conservation officer Rabin Chaudhary said the tiger was found in injured condition near border pillar number 24 at the Nepal-India border which lies to the south of the park.
"The tourist guides informed the park administration after spotting the injured tiger yesterday. The tiger died at night and its post-mortem would be carried out at the park office," he said.
Chaudhary said the cause of the tiger's death would be known from its post-mortem report. He added that they are investigating whether the tiger came from India or from Nepal as it was found on the border.
There are 16 Royal Bengal tigers in the Shuklaphanta National Park.
