By Janarjan Khatri, Sarlahi, July 3: A case has been filed against Ram Bahadur Bamjan, aka little Buddha, and two others at Sarlahi district court on the charge of child sexual abuse.

Shiva Hari Paudel, registrar at Sarlahi district court, informed that district government attorney office of Sarlahi had sued three persons including Bamjan on charges of child molestation on Thursday.

According to him, the case has been filed against Ram Lal Bamjan called as Ram Bahadur Bamjan, Gyan Bahadur Bamjan known as Tokteng Mahatma Guru who is also chief of Pattarkot-based Bodhi Marga Darshan Ashram and Jit Bahadur Tamang called as JB Guru.

Sentence as per the Act relating to child has been demanded against the defendants in the lawsuit.

Yubaraj Sharma, assistant attorney at Sarlahi district government attorney office, said that a sentence for 12 to 14 years of imprisonment and compensation, as per the Act relating to child, have been demanded against main defendant Ram Bahadur Bamjan.

Bamjan has been accused of sexual exploitation of an 18-year girl at his Ashram, located at Pattharkot, Lalbandi Municipality-13 in Sarlahi district.

A complaint about this on behalf of the victim was registered last February at Sarlahi district police. Although the police carried search operations for Bamjan in his Ashram in Sarlahi and Sindhuli, he was not found. As accused Bamjan could not be arrested, the police had a few days ago submitted the investigation report and other documents to the district government attorney office.

Defendant Bamjan can present himself within 35 days in the court. If he fails to do so, arrest warrant will be issued against him.
