By Nabaraj Kattel, Biratnagar, July 12: A youth died in Silichong Rural Municipality-1, Sankhuwasabha while rescuing those who were buried by the landslide.
The deceased has been identified as 25-year old Madan Rai.
“Rai had fainted while rescuing the landslide victims in Besinda village. He died shortly afterwards,” said Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Deepak Pokharel of information coordination department under State 1 Police Office.
Gobasingh Rai, 79, his wife Fulmaya Rai, 60, Bhimsari Rai, 14 and Bhim Bahadur Rai, 55 who were buried in the landslip were rescued on Sunday Morning. Gobasingh and Bhim Bahadur’s houses were completely swept off by the landslide.
Gobasingh has been severely injured in the landside, informed the Police.
Likewise, Ramman Rai, his wife Hasta Kumari Rai, 55, two daughters Anjila Rai, 21 and Namrata Rai, 11, Gorimaya Rai, 65, Prakriti Rai, 22, Juddha Bahadur Rai, 52, Uttar Kumari Rai, 45, Najmaya Rai, 70, Harkaraj Rai, 84, Aaitmaya Rai, 82, Sandip Rai and Shubhadhan Rai are still missing.
Houses of all those who have gone missing were completely swept off by the landslide.
The State Police Office informed that a team of two including health chief of Silichong had moved towards the place of incident.
