Kathmandu, Oct 1: The Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration (MoFAGA) has directed the local levels to continue to provide their services even during the Dashain and Tihar vacations.
The MoFAGA has sent this circulation to all the local levels asking them to make arrangements to keep health services operational in line with the letter received from the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
On Sunday, MoFAGA sent an 11-point direction to all Metropolitan Cities, Sub-Metropolitan Cities, Municipalities and Rural Municipalities instructing them to provide health services during the time of Dashain and Tihar holidays.
According to the notice, the health institutions should arrange to put the Hospital Disaster Management Committee on prepared position. The health institutions should make arrangements to operate them 24-hour emergency services in all hospitals.
As per the notice, keeping in view the possibility of traffic accidents along the Highways, the health institutions are directed to make necessary arrangements to keep the health institutions located near the Highways in a more prepared status.
The Hospital pharmacies are also directed to remain open 24-hours even during holidays. Staff members’ leave arrangements should be made keeping in view and without affecting the services to be provided, read the notice.
The ambulance services should be kept in standby and ready status, it read.
The health institutions should keep in mind the current dengue epidemic; make necessary arrangements so as to ensure that control and treatment services would not be impacted.
The health facilities are directed to make necessary arrangements to avoid any impact on the blood transfusion services.
