Kathmandu, Aug. 5: The Japan-made AstraZeneca vaccine for Nepal is scheduled to be airlifted on August 5 and 6 from Japan to Nepal and expected to arrive in Kathmandu on August 7 and 8, respectively.
With this, about half of 1.6 million vaccines Japan pledged to Nepal would be delivered, according to a press statement of Embassy of Japan in Kathmandu.
Half of the remaining vaccines for Nepal will be shipped to Kathmandu in due course, under the arrangements with the relevant organisations, read the statement.
Ambassador of Japan to Nepal Yutaka Kikuta expressed his hope that these Japanese COVID-19 vaccines will be utilised expeditiously in the COVID-19 vaccination campaign in coordination with the Ministry of Health and Population of Nepal.
