Morang, Nov. 14: Subash Rai, 32, of Kholitar, Miklajung-5, Morang, has been horrified by a tumor on his left cheek, which has been increasing along with his age. The tumor neither hurts nor does it itch.

Even though it looks scary at the first glance, it hasn’t affected him physically and mentally.

“Had this tumor not been on my cheeks, I would have winged overseas for employment,” said Rai. “It was just a nodule when I was a kid and it has been increasing since then.”

Even though Rai’s parents had tried to cure the tumor when he was a child, they were unable to do so due to their poor economic condition.

“Our economic condition is poor. We have to work hard daily for eking out our livelihood,” said Rai. “After the death of my mother, I have lost all hopes of being cured.”

Rai said that he would be able to cure the tumor if he received support from someone. “I would not have stayed in Kolitar had I been able to remove this tumor,” said Rai.

Rai believes that he could earn more if he would remove the tumor.

Rai’s younger brother Gyawal Rai, 27, has also been carrying similar kind of tumor on his hand.

“Gyawal cannot help in our daily chores due to the tumor. Being physically weak, we are finding it difficult to manage our livelihood,” said Subash Rai.

“Even though we have heard about free treatment that the government provides, we have not received it until now,” he added.

Lok Bahadur Rai, Subash and Gyawal’s uncle, said that both the brothers were in search of treatment.

Since the Rai brothers are unmarried, they are facing problem in taking care of their father.

“It seems even the god is cruel to the poor,” said the brothers.
