Kavre, Dec 8: Students of three classes in the remote areas of the district are compelled to study in a single room due to lack of school building.
After the school buildings were destroyed by the 2015 earthquake, the school administrations have been running three classes in a single room in Mahabharat and Khanikhola Rural Municipalities. Delay in the reconstruction of the school buildings is blamed for such situation.
Students of grade 2, 3 and 5 of Siddheshwor Secondary School of Phoksingtar of Mahabharat Rural Municipality -3 are studying in a single room.
Nani Babu Bholan, principal of the school, said that school management was forced to run three classes in a single room due to lack of school building.
Binita Ghalan, a 5 grader, said that they were facing difficulty when students of three classes were kept in a single room.
“We feel very difficult, we even cannot understand the lectures,” she said.
There are eight students in grade 2, six in grade 3 and 11 in grade 5 in the school.
Similarly, the condition of Chandrodaya Primary School of Mahabharat Rural Municipality-1 is no different.
The school has been running two classes in a single room also due to lack of school building.
Tul Bahadur Pradhan, principal of the school, said that they were running class 2 and 3 in a single room.
“We are also running classes of 4 and 5 in a single room,” he said.
There are four rooms in the school. Of them, one is set for office three rooms to run classes.
“We have been running two classes in a single room for eight years,” he said.
