Inaruwa, Dec. 27:
Krishna Bahadur Giri, also known as Sidhha Baba, who was accused of raping his own follower, gave his statement in Sunsari District Court on Friday.
Following the case file submitted on Thursday, the district court heard Giri’s statement today.
Six government attorneys, Gokul Niraula, Nabaraj Bista, Rewati Subedi, Anil Regmi and Ananta Neupane will be pleading on behalf of the victim’s side while advocates Mohan Koirala, Saroj Giri and five others will be representing Giri on the court on Sunday.
The advocates of both the sides will be pleading for and against bailment of Giri, said Narendra Keshari Pokharel, a court official.
The decision of bailment on Giri is expected to be rendered until Monday.
Meanwhile, the court premises remained in tense due to the presence of a large number of protesters and followers of Giri.
Giri has been at Birat Nursing Home since 25 days after being arrested.
Binod Sharma, Deputy Superintendent of Sunsari Police, said that the police had submitted all the reports to the court.
The accused had tried to manipulate the prosecutors by talking to her for over one hour and twenty minutes on phone.
Even though Giri has been denying about talking with the victim over the phone, the forensic science laboratory has said that 77 per cent of the evidences submitted by the victim were true.
