By Our Correspondent, Nawalparasi, June 13: Senior citizens of Bulingtar Rural Municipality of East Nawalparasi have been deprived of their allowances for the last seven months.

Senior citizens, differently able, and single women of the Rural Municipality have not been able to get the allowance since last December.

Dalsingh Thada Magar, a senior citizen of Bulingtar Rural Municipality-2 said they were unable to get their social security allowance due to negligence of people's representatives.

Lil Prasad Ranabhat of Bharatpur of Buligantar-6 complained that he has also been deprived of the senior citizen's allowance for the past seven months.

As Dalsingh and Lil Prasad, Bal Bahadur Ale Magar of Buligantar-1 has expressed his indignation and said that it is unfortunate that people's representatives can do nothing for the welfare of senior citizens.

Around 1,600 senior citizens, differently able and single women of the rural municipality who have been visiting the ward office for their allowances time and again have not been able to get it.

About Rs. 33.6 million social security allowance is not allocated from last November.

Maina BK, the vice-chairperson of the Rural Municipality, said that senior citizen allowance could not be provided on time due to frequent transfer of chief administrative officer.BK said that the allowance would be available soon.Ram Prasad Sapkota has recently been transferred to the municipality as a chief administrative officer.

Sapkota said the rural municipality will make the allowance available through the bank soon.
