Kathmandu, Sept. 2: Academic institutions that have been shut for the past four months in the Valley have been given permission to bring their respective schools into operation from Thursday onwards (September 2) taking prior-consent from the District COVID-19 Crisis Management Centre (DCCMC).
A meeting of the three District Administration Offices (DAOs) held at Kathmandu Administration Office on Wednesday decided to give permission to operate schools abiding by the health protocols and smart lockdown modality executed by the government recently.

“Now, schools which have minimal or negligible risk of the coronavirus in the respective ward of the local bodies can run classes taking approval from the DCCMC ensuring strict health protocols,” read the statement issued by the DAO, Kathmandu.
The new decision issued by the DAOs meeting this morning will come into effect from September 2 to 16.

Apart from the decision, DAO meeting has also ordered to mark upcoming festivals in compliance with the health protocol and symbolically in minimal participation. Unnecessary gatherings, crowds, assemblies, processions, festivals, banquets are prohibited throughout.

For conducting economic, social and business activities by the general public, groups and institutions, the DAOs have permitted to operate only by following the health standards prescribed by the government. The DAO has prohibited operation of the local transport services of goods and construction materials from 9 to 11 am and 4 pm to 7 pm.

Transportation of construction materials for public and private construction is allotted from 9 pm to 5 am.
The local administration of Kathmandu Valley has issued the order as per the decision of the Council of Ministers regarding the prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic, COVID-19 Crisis Management Ordinance, 2078 B.S. and Local Administration Act, 2028.

The restriction order in the Valley extended last time is going to expire from Wednesday midnight.
