Kathmandu, Sept. 17: Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) is organising ‘Festival Photo Contest' to make the festivals creative and meaningful despite inability of people to celebrate festivals as usual due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
To participate in the contest one can send photos captured during festivals and festival related activities online, NTB stated in a press statement issued on Wednesday.
Participants have to send at least seven photos to https://photonepal.travel by November 25. All interested persons can also register their participation through their social accounts to take part in the contest.
Five best contestants will receive a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 each.
Dhananjay Regmi, chief executive officer of NTB, said that the photo contest was organised as a series of photo contest considering overwhelming participation in such competition organised in the past.
The photo contest is expected to support tourism promotion campaign by shedding light to gratefulness of Nepali festivals, it stated.
NTB has been organising #photonepal exhibition regularly for the last four years. The exhibition was started from photo exhibition of Toni Hagen in 2016. The photonepal.travel was started to make the campaign of promoting Nepal via photos abroad, it read.
So far, around 25,000 photos of more than 11,000 members have been archived under the campaign.
