By Lalit Basel, Surkhet, Oct. 23: The meeting of the State Assembly party of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) in Karnali State has rejected by a majority vote the no confidence motion against the party leader Chief Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi.

The NCP's State Assembly party meeting held on Friday under the chairmanship of chief whip Sita Nepali dismissed the no trust motion against the Chief Minister by a majority vote.

Dhruba Budhathoki, press advisor to the Chief Minister, informed that in the meeting 18 out of 33 state lawmakers of the NCP were present and that the meeting rejected the proposal registered against the CM. As the NCP has 33 members in the Karnali State Assembly, the party needed 17 vote to show majority and all those who were present in the meeting voted for CM Shahi.

Most of the state lawmakers who registered no trust motion against CM Shahi did not take part in the meeting.
