Kathmandu, Nov. 21: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has urged the government and other stakeholders to ensure transitional justice as mentioned by the Comprehensive Peace Accord.
Issuing a press release on the 15th anniversary of the signing of CPA on Sunday, NHRC Spokesperson Tikaram Pokhrel asked the government to amend the laws as per NHRC recommendations, international human rights law and Supreme Court verdict. "I urge all sides concerned to guarantee the rights of justice to the conflict injured persons and conflict victim families, and bring to book the human rights perpetrator. Nepal government and all other stakeholders must end the impunity."
The NHRC has been recommending the government for the action against human rights violation in addition to the monitoring and investigation.
The implementation of the recommendation is however dissatisfactory, he added.
