Kathmandu, Oct. 23: The central and state level offices of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) shall remain open during Dashain holidays.
The NHRC said that its offices would remain open from 12 pm to 2 pm during the holidays to let people register their complaints about human rights violation.
Similarly, the commission would continue its media monitoring and would carry out monitoring in the serious human rights violation cases as per the requirement.
A provision has been arranged to open the NHRC offices on holidays by considering the priorities of human rights protection.
The commission has also assigned spokesperson, assistant spokesperson and information officer and assistant information officer to provide information to the stakeholders and general public about its services.
As per the press statement of the commission, it has assigned general-secretary Dr. Tikaram Pokharel as spokesperson, under-secretary Buddha Narayan Kewat as assistant-spokesperson, under-secretary Som Nath Subedi as information officer and human rights officer Durga Pokharel as assistant information officer.
