NCP standing committee discusses on government, meeting to continue tomorrow

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, June 30: Leaders have put forth their views on two additional agenda besides the seven main agenda fixed on the first day of the meeting in the ongoing meeting of the Standing Committee of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) today.

"18 standing committee members including chairmen duo expressed their views in today's meeting," said Narayan Kaji Shrestha, NCP spokesperson, after the meeting at the Prime Minister's official residence in Baluwatar.

Two additional agenda that the leaders expressed views on are birth anniversary of Madan Bhandari, late general secretary of CPN-UML, and registration of a new party bearing the name of CPN-UML in the Election Commission. Presently ruling NCP was formed by unifying two parties, CPN-UML and CPN-Maoist Center.

According to NCP spokesperson Shrestha, discussion was centered on whether there is any involvement of NCP rank and file in the registration of the new party and on the issue that NCP leaders were active to topple the government.

He said that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, also NCP Chairman, expressed his views after NCP executive chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' put forth views on these issues.

He said that the meeting will also continue tomorrow.
