Kathmandu, Feb 27: The National Youth Council has appointed district chairs in 71 districts. The posts were lying vacant since July last year.
According to vice chairman of the council Madhav Dhungel, the district committees were formed to work in the youth sectors in each district. He added that chairs in Saptari, Bardiya, Mugu, Jumla and Bajhang were already appointed.
Dhungel added that the council is working out to form Province level committees. He said the acts were being drafted for the purpose.
The council was formed to work in the youth sectors. The national census records the population of youths is 40.35 per cent of the total population of the country which is 29,478,959.
